GOODWILL HAWAII AND NATIONAL KIDNEY FOUNDATION OF HAWAII ANNOUNCE NEW PARTNERSHIP

Honolulu, Hawaii – Goodwill Hawaii recently entered a partnership with National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii to manage the operations of two of their donation PODs on Oahu located at Kailua Church of the Nazarene and Parker United Methodist Church in Kaneohe that will benefit both nonprofit organizations.

“Now more than ever, it’s important that we stick together as a nonprofit community and support one another to ensure that we can continue to carry out our respective missions to the people that we serve,” said Goodwill Hawaii president and CEO Katy Chen. “It’s gratifying to know that the revenue generated from the sale of donations collected will stay right here in Hawaii to help locals in need.”

“We are grateful to Goodwill Hawaii for this partnership and stepping up to manage our donation centers as it allows us to focus our efforts on our programs that strive to eradicate chronic kidney disease in Hawaii” said Glenn Hayashida, National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii’s CEO.

Donors are encouraged to drop off their gently used clothing and small household goods to the Goodwill Hawaii-National Kidney Foundation donation pods only when a donation attendant is present during operating hours as follows:

Kailua Church of the Nazarene , 536 Oneawa St, Kailua, HI 96734
10:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday thru Saturday
11:00 am – 4:00 pm Sunday

Parker United Methodist Church , 45-211 Waikalua Rd. Kaneohe, HI 96744
10:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday thru Friday

Goodwill has formed similar partnerships with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hawaii, the Island of Hawaii YMCA and others in the past several years. Goodwill Hawaii’s programs are supported by the sale of community donations in its thrift stores. Revenue generated in Goodwill’s thrift stores are reinvested back into its free job training and employment programs that help low-income families, people transitioning out of incarceration, adults with disabilities, at-risk youth, immigrants and others with employment barriers.
