Kailua, Hawaii (June 2, 2014) – Goodwill is returning to Kailua and will provide a convenient option for local bargain hunters to find great deals and donate their gently used clothing and household items. The store and donation center will be located at 105 Oneawa Street.
This will be the eighth Goodwill Retail Store and Donation Center location on Oahu and marks the return of Goodwill to Kailua since it was last open in 2010. With the addition of the Kailua location, there are now 11 Goodwill store and donation centers statewide: on Maui, Oahu, and the Big Island. Donations help to create jobs by generating revenue that go towards job readiness and job placement programs for individuals with employment barriers.
On Saturday, June 21, 2014 Goodwill Industries of Hawaii will host its Grand Opening event for its Kailua Retail Store and Donation Center. The event will begin at 8:45 with a blessing and ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:00 am. The first 50 people in line will receive a free re-useable Goodwill bag.
Krater 96 is scheduled to broadcast on site and there will also be prize drawings and special savings offered throughout the day.
The new store will be open from 8:45 am to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. For a list and map of all locations, please visit goodwillhawaii.org.
