Celebrity Chef Jon Matsubara annouced as Official Guest Chef of the 5th Annual Goodwill Goes Glam! Gala Night

Yet even with the most humble beginnings, Chef Matsubara’s career soon blossomed with positions such as Chef de Partie in the infamous New York kitchens of Restaurant Jean Georges, Tabla and Bouley, and as Chef de Cuisine of Canoe House Restaurant in the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel.

On the Today Show, Chef Matsubara was able to share some of Hawaii’s flavorful cuisines with the world when he prepared local favorites while adding his own signature touches, including pork tacos with pineapple salsa and watermelon salad with macadamia nuts.

Gala Night and Fashion Show presented by Bank of Hawaii Foundation is the exclusive kick-off event of the four-day benefit, which is followed by three days of retail sales featuring a vast marketplace of chic and vintage items collected from Goodwill Hawaii stores. This is the largest annual fundraiser for Goodwill Hawaii, which not only garners monetary support for their cause but also raises awareness of their mission. All proceeds benefit Goodwill Hawaii and their charitable contributions to the community and those facing employment obstacles.
